Get in touch

At Kenepa Therapy it is my mission to guide you on a journey of self-discovery, through curiosity and compassion, by providing you with a safe space to explore your own thoughts and emotions. Through learning (and unlearning) you will gain the knowledge and skills required to overcome your challenges and create a meaningful life.

Treatment Vision and Methods

I believe every person is unique and beautifully complex. Thus, therapy cannot be the same for everyone. Kenepa Therapy aims to tailor the treatment to your specific circumstances, to help you gain the tools you need, to reach your goals and to live the life that you want to live. The treatment trajectory is aimed to be as short as possible, but can be as long as necessary. Therapeutic progress will be evaluated regularly.

Treatment Methods:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Schema-focused Therapy (SFT)

Our
Story

The Quenepa fruit (also known as Spanish lime or Mamoncilla) is a fruit that can be found on the most beautiful beach on the island Curacao named Playa Kenepa. The word "Kenepa" is associated with the therapeutic process in several ways:

  1. Similar to the fruit, we may appear hard from the outside, but when opened we find our softer and vulnerable sides hidden underneath.

  2. The therapeutic relationship should be a place in which you feel safe to explore your inner thoughts and feelings, much like the solitude offered by the beach.

  3. The beach embodies the concept of impermanence, with the constant ebb and flow of ocean tides, and weather changes. Similarly, therapy often involves accepting the impermanent nature of life and learning to navigate change with resilience and flexibility.
